Spread 173 – My People
18 May 2014
Nova Color paints, image transfers with matte gel, matte medium, cardboard, matte varnish, Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
As I prepare for another weekend spending time with other wonderful creative art journalers at Orly Avineri’s June art journaling class. I think about the people, my people. They get the real me. They understand me. People I feel most at home with.
This spread was created in Orly’s May class.
Also you can join me on Saturday July 19th at Make ART in LA for my new art journaling class:
Finding Yourself – Join us for a day of exploration to discover YOUR style in art journaling. Working with copies of childhood and/or family photos and other images you feel a connection to such as a tree, a chair, or other special object(s), we’ll use paint, paper, pens, markers, found objects, and image transfer techniques to enhance your layouts. This workshop is all about developing and exploring your unique voice through style, color, image, and words. For everyone, all skill levels.
It is a wonderful value at $100.00 for about five and a half hours of art journaling.
I love this spread Brian – the hints of people peeking out from the rich vibrant color is striking…and they remind of the photo album from the movie ‘Amelie’! =) Congrats on your teaching gigs – hope to join in one of these days!
I love this spread too, very much, and you, very much…and very much looking forward to sit in your class as your student, and oh so much excited about seeing you and our friends this weekend, the camaraderie, the attentiveness to one another, the creativity that flows, all of it so warms my heart and taps into our deep needs to create and through it feel interconnected.
Would love to be able to join you at both Orly’s and your workshop. No doubt some deep work will be done!
Would love to be able to meet up with you guys… have lots of fun with your classes!
I love this spread. What a success at distressing!
love the atmospheric look of your transfers…
