Spread 0169 – Beggars Can’t Be Choosers
6 April 2014
Vintage and found images, matte medium, Micron pens, pencil, Nova Color paints, white gesso.
It’s strange how just reading a phrase can remind me of my parents. My mom used to use that phrase “beggars can’t be choosers.” It reminds me of my parents experience growing up during the depression. It seems so foreign to me now, yet still familiar.
I also wanted to let you know I will be teaching two classes in Los Angeles, California at MAKE ART in L.A.
Finding Yourself – Saturday, July 12, 2014 – 10:30-4:30
Men Only – Saturday, July 19, 2014 – 10:30-4:30
I am the guest blogger on the MAKE ART in L.A. blog. Writing about “Artist Block”. Read my post here. Finally I don’t let anything or anyone block me or stop me from expressing myself.
My mom used to say that to me too lol
My mother said it too.. It is foreign to me too.. Love the flow and as I said before adore the quirkiness of it..
So cool to see all your journals together in a stack. Wish I could be at your LA workshops but you are just a little too far! At least I can read your guest post.
