Spread 144 – “Window Pain”
September 23 to October 1 2013
White gesso, Nova Color acrylic paints, image printed on tracing paper, vintage papers, and found materials, Sigano white gel pen, Adirondack Sprays.
My journal is a window into my pain, my joys, my life. It all comes together here, It helps me to sort it out and to give old stories peace and to give me the courage to challenge myself to deal with today’s stories. These are my windows.
I like the visual story you have here. I enjoy seeing you experimenting with various media, processes, ideas, and new thought forms. It takes guts to constantly move forth, not get set in the comfort that familiarity provides us. I like how you are okay with sharing with us the different points in the middle of your path.

Love this journal Brian – its striking and powerful, with rich imagery!
I find this one very affecting.
This page is so powerful- emotional and you. I so agree with your words about the journal.
Your ‘windows’ are filled with visual interest and wonder! Thanks for allowing the rest of us to peer through them, as well.
Instantly narrative comes to mind when looking at this spread. I am drawn in through the window into a space that is intimate with your writing. It is really a great piece, Brian!
A very apt analogy. The page on the right is especially moving and powerful to me. It says so much without any words.
