Spread 109 – Dandy Friends
25 October 2012
Vintage and personal papers, can label, tissue paper, matt medium, acrylic paint, tracing paper image.
My partner and I met some wonderful new friends recently and although it was our first meeting we chatted and laughed getting to know each other like we had been friends for years. We had common interests in art right from the start. I think art makes us like children in that way. It takes us back to the time when we were naturally open and played freely.
Meet some of my art friends and their art blogs:
You’ll soon love them just as I do. Have a wonderful creative weekend!

This is so yummy, Brian! The black silhouettes against the colorful background really make this page!
The musketeer image is perfect. I love the color balance with the dark images. I keep looking and looking and finding new things in this piece. Great layering.
Brian, I agree with your comment on our visit. I, too, feel we have know each other for years and years or at least in a different life. We had so much fun at your house and going to Orly’s workshop.
Oh that’s fantastic Brian…in every possible way. XO
I totally agree about art bringing us back to the fun of childhood.
bellissimo lavoro! love your colour! l’arte è un linguaggio universale,
e il tuo lavoro è stupendo!
Oh wow, I just saw this post! I love what you say about art bringing us back to our childhood “play’ state. I think Art Journaling in particular has this capacity, its just like childhood play: Imaginative and inspired. You have a really amazing way of using warm grounding colors and playful colors together, and an amazing use of images.
Thank you for sharing my blog link too!
