Spread 0113 – “The Secret”
10 – 17 November 2012
Vintage and personal images, napkins, acrylic paint, matte medium, Tim Holtz Distress Ink, matte varnish.
The secret is addition and subtraction.
Started in an art journaling class with Orly Avineri.
I am really excited to see what came of the napkin retreat. Think of all the possibilities. What a fun way to be able to use what was brought by you and others. Funny how you and I both have an Asian influence this week. I really like the wave of sea foam green as if it is going to wash right over the figure. Nice work, Brian!
Strong colors in this piece Brian- for some reason it reminds me of Hans Hoffman’s paintings- learned of his work in art history:

I like the location of the figure in this.
I’m very pleased to have tracked you down again – I managed to lose you when you changed blogs a year or two ago – now there is so much fabulous new stuff for me to catch up on!
do you still work in that huuuuuuge moleskin journal that I coveted so much on your previous blog?
