Spread 0074 – “Emerging Man”
April 01, 2012
Montana acrylic spray paint, Adirondack color sprays, Sigano white gel pens.
I have been asked how do I do what I do? Where does it come from? My answer. I practice. A little at a time. I do this daily. I do the work. I listen deeply. I am quiet. It took tears, time, frustration, mostly time and patience. I don’t come by this naturally, but slowly with time it comes. It is an emergence.
Wow such prolificacy lately. Love your words here. It’s all about work..beautiful work.
So true Brian!!! Oh, and your work just reminded me of a salt-technique (I don’t know if that’s what you used) The effect is amazing and I’m inspired now to go back to it and start making my hands dirty today. Thanks!
Brian, love your journal spread and your thoughts resonated in me, as I too feel this does not come naturally, but it is a need inside me nonetheless. Emergence, I like that!
Indeed, all about work, and it shows, by the way you’re able to draw out the deeper layers on the page. It’s always inspiring, thanks!
I love this sentiment. I am only beginning, and it does not come naturally to me, either. I am trying to learn ways to practice some art daily, even when I feel I’m not functional enough to do anything else. I have a long way to go in that endeavor, but hope I can turn it into a loving habit soon enough.
