Graffiti Journal Cover

Here is another visual journal cover. It may never be “finished” but here it is in the present moment. I started working on it back in 2009, I left that journal a while I worked on my XL Moleskine journal. It is actually a Papaya – Sabrina Ward Harrison journal, I don’t even think you can purchase them any longer. I have another one, I tend to purchase journals in duplicate so I can have one to work in while the other dries, you can view the other cover in this post here. I like my covers to evolve over time, I like to think of them as a preview or a tease as to what is inside. I add little bits and paint and images here and there as I go along, every mark, image, phrase has meaning to me. I still have about six blank spread pages inside but I think the cover is about as done as it gets. It is currently 72 degrees here in Long Beach and yes the sun is out and I am headed outside to play in this journal in my favorite spot on my patio table. Who knows where I’ll go. Enjoy your day.
It is very cool Brian. And I love the idea that you let the journal cover evolve over time.
Fun cover work…I always neglect my covers…they ARE important…
Nice cover definitely reflects a joyful heart 🙂
Oh my gosh! I love your artwork, it’s always inspiring to visit your blog.
Someone started a game of blog tag and I tagged you! You can see my blog for more info – there is absolutely no obligation to play along, I am sure you are busy, but I love your blog and just wanted to share it with others.
Big love
AJ
