7″X9″ Visual Journal
Paint, ink, vintage images and personal images.
It is interesting to me looking at old childhood photos. I can tell when life took a different turn and my life changed forever. Life is changing in big and small ways in our home right now. Do we use this as a time to move? What do we do next? Many, many questions. One lasting constant in my life is my journals. They are there for me, comforting me, bringing stability. They will always be there for me.
Change is always hard but it keeps us from taking things for granted. Change often brings new ways of looking at things. I wish you new ways of looking at old things! I am so glad you have your journals as a constant during this period.
I can, in utter honesty, relate to that so very well. When all seems to shake and shudder, art making is the one thing that brings peace to an unsettled heart. More specifically, art making in an intimate book can heal an achy soul. I like these pages very much…they encompass a whole range of emotions that I can clearly identify in myself, yet it has personal nuances that I cannot nor shouldn’t even attempt to decode cause they are yours.

Awesome pages. And I completely feel what you are saying here. Change is more than just in the air…and our journals really are our anchors. Thanks for sharing Brian –
Your ephemera on this spread is way wonderful!
While change is challenging, it offers new opportunities. I wish you the best on making your choices. This page is wonderful…the childhood images here are so universal and so personal at the same time.
Great colour combinations. Good composition and really nice epehemra. Love this.
You are pages are beautiful and I hope they help you reflect and evaluate the changes you are going through.
I’m loving the ephemera used here Brian. I agree with the sentiment that having art as the constant in ones’ life is very helpful as it provides a security we rarely find in Life. I hope Journalfest was great!
Very cool, Brian, and very intriguing. I love how the two pages are tied together with the faces. See you at JournalFest!
