Tree Trunk, Trees Handmade Journal
Fabriano Artistico paper, vintage and personal papers, paint, ink, molding paste, black gesso.
July 30-31, 2011
The trunk of the tree is the center from which everything grows. I am finally at a point in my life where I am feeling very centered and at peace. I have come to realize that I do not “make time” for art in my life. It is a part of my life, a part of me. I work in my journals almost every single day. It may be just a small thing, but little things add up. Life is too short not to be happy. Make art a part of your life. Have a wonderful weekend!
Beautiful and soul stirring
So dynamic and color-rich!!! I LOVE that you wrote:”I have come to realize that I do not “make time” for art in my life. It is a part of my life, a part of me.”…and you know what…it shows in your journal entries, the ease in-which you have become to journal…to apply these rich layers of papers , colors, textures, and images, all seamlessly integrated and connected…so beautiful to witness.
Having the activity of ‘creating’ just like eating, moving, sleeping, as a part that makes your time here on earth is remarkable…what a great place to be Brian…I envy you for that.
Love the texture and the colors.
Just now catching up on your TREES journal posts Brian and how wonderful they have all been so far!
I’m glad you shared the story of your family pets under the special tree – it was such a beautiful story when I heard it during that amazing and lovely weekend making art and making new friendships…
I also love that you are now in a place where making art is a fluid part of your life, like eating and breathing! That is a great gift =-)
Really impressive textures and color combinations. I feel ike you must have rubbed a tree trunk to get these designs.
i needed to be reminded of this. thank you!
