This is a spread from a class from Orly Avineri. We did a study in black and white ONLY. It is also shown on my old blog here. It is one of my favorite spreads. I tend to see more in shades of grey than in black and white, how about you?

Really like this — great composition!
I really like this– great composition!
I’m liking the black and white work! Bet the class was fun!! Mary is right, it is great composition- the face you have hidden in there is compelling… I just want to keep looking at the piece to find more. Very nice!
I have loved this piece since I first saw it on your other blog. I can make black and white art. I don’t mind that at all. However, most of the time, I would rather live in a world of gray than one in black and white. Maybe fewer discrete colors, but also, far fewer absolutes!
I love your new blog! So creative and wonderful. Have missed seeing you in San Diego! Your work is such an inspiration for me! Happy Holidays!
Love,
Elise
yes, so many shades of gray here. And I do see a lot of black and white. I just decided I need more black, or even SOME black in my work! Hope your weekend is a great one… roxanne
Now I know why your name was familiar! I’ve seen your comments on Orly’s site. I love these pages.
I’m finding the weather here..all browns and rusts are informing not only my work but the work I’m drawn to at the moment.
happy solstice!
