I am very honored to be one of the featured male artists in Jennifer Forker’s article for the Associated Press on Men’s Crafts, “From Whittling to Knitting, How Modern Men Craft”. You can read the article in its entirty by clicking on the link. Watch your local paper for the article. Thank you Jennifer!
Nice piece Brian- I use bird imagery a lot in my work- I also love maps. Jill Berry has a book coming out sometime Called Personal Geographies (I think) It looks like something you may like.
You should be honored…great article…the whole concept refreshing…
I love men who make art in any shape or form, and one I love in particular, one man I know who art journals..passionately.

I just finished reading the article in the Dayton Daily News and had to immediately come find your blog. Nice work. I am going to look at the idea of the rolodex. I like that idea.
Love your collage and was happy to read the great story about you!!! Great going!!!
Previously you mentioned “street art”, picking up so-called garbage off the street to go into your artwork. Well, I have a “thing” about picking up trash no matter how neat it looks. It reminded me of an artist, and I don’t know the name, who sort of made their own. They would put magazines, newspapers, etc. in a barrel or something and leave it outside so it would get rained on, the sun would fade some parts of it, etc. I never got around to doing it, but it sounds like a good idea. I have some old milk cartons that have holes in it so when it rains here, which isn’t often, the water can drain out so I shouldn’t have problems with mold.
Congratulations Brian! Very nice article and very cool art.
A big congratulations Brian. I am off to check out the link!
