When was your last play date? I have many friends who take their kids on play dates. I even have friends who take their pets on play dates. But how many adults you know that have play dates? Well, I think that should change. I am all for adult play dates! This last summer I had a couple friends over and we had an artistic play date in our back yard. We played with paper and paint and ink! It was fun. We even had a wonderful lunch(snack) my partner Ed made us. But there was no nappin’. We were too busy playing and making art. Ya know I think it is time for another play date. What do you say? And as always if you’d like to see a larger image of my spread click on the picture.
I say AMEN!
What a yummy feast, representative of the yummy feast in your back yard that (play)day!!!!
That’s an awesome idea. I’ve crafted with girlfriends before, but not as a mixed group with a planned activity – maybe it’s time…
Great Idea. Adults should definitely schedule regular play dates with creativity! Thank you for this reminder. Happy creating…
That is a great idea Brian! 🙂 I am not very artistic but it is always fun when we have stamping play dates!
I would love to have a play date if I could make wonderful art like that above. YES, I want to come and play. I would even like a play date with myself one of these days. It’s hard making art for others when I would love to making it for myself. Thanks for inspiring me to just play!!
I love your new blog, Brian. Thanks for leaving such a nice comment on mine so I’d know to come on over here. Play dates are such fun. Thanks for the challenge; I’ll get a few girlfriends together soon to play. I did one this summer with 3 generations of friends. What a hoot! It was such fun that I forgot to take pictures.
Playdates are so muh fun. I would definitely come and play and even bring Ed a dessert so he could join in the fun. I meet once a monthe with several groups of ladies and “play.” Some dates are more structured than others. Play weekends are fun also. If you are in the area I invite you – usually it is dinner and show and tell on Friday – flea marketing or thrifting Saturday morning – lunch then some serious art. Break for dinner and an evening stroll on the beach or some swimming in the pool, Sunday it is walk on the beach followed up with a dip in the pool, brunch, and finish up some art. Relaxed and sated with art with friends is a good way to start off the week.
tripod your camera and shoot it at your camera’s max resolution! Be sure you are shooting with your lines “straight”- not angled, so you can crop in if you need. Your pages are gorgeous!!!
Just fantastic that there is mostly paint and I imagine images covered by paint. 🙂
