“Cover Me”
9″X7″ Journal 2 Cover
1 September, 2011
Vintage papers & images, paint, ink, Adirondack sprays, crackle paste.
A new cover for one of my art journals. I love a new journal, new possibilities. Time to play in the sun. I have discovered the wisdom of having multiple journals going at once. I like to have multiple journals to work on while waiting for things to dry. I am currently working in four; two 9″x7″ journals, one 11.5″ X 16.5″ Moleskine journal and my rolodex journal . How many journals do you have going?
Also a reminder about my Journalfest class, Layers of Life. Journalfest is quickly approaching and classes are filling fast!
SO rich, beautiful…
juggling a few journals at a time sounds great for ‘action journaling’…forgo obsession with details and work big and free…
I myself, am more of a one journal kind of woman…(:
So great!!! Love the cover. I have 3 journals going right now!
WOW! Those covers look FANTASTIC!! Love the richness of color…YUM!
I hadn’t thought of the idea of having more than one art journal, but as a knitter I always have more than one project going, so I can see the wisdom of working in more than one journal. I tend to make two pages from one sheet of watercolor paper for two different sized art books I have, in addition to the journal I work in with Orly’s workshops, so I guess I have three journals I work in – who knew! =-)
Very rich and mellow colours. Good blending of papers. i’m envious.
Such a beautiful cover.
I also have a few journal going at the the same time. Each journal represents a different mood but they all make me happy….
I am loving this Brian! Very nice layers and rich colors.
Yikes! I only have one journal going at a time… It’s where I collect all my thoughts and inspiration. BUT, i always have several paintings/collages going at once, so I understand… I may try different journals at once… Thanks for the inspiration
I usually just work on one journal at a time, but I always un-spiral the journal. That way I can work on several pages sets at once, while pages are drying.
I LOVE this cover though–I wish I would integrate colors and imagery more subtly like you have here. Simply gorgeous.
I love this vibrant journal cover, Brian. I used to work in multiple journals at the same time, opening to a page and working where the journal opened, without regard for any sequential-ness. I had a purse size journal, a yoga journal, a memory journal and a daily journal. Now I collage and paint in a few journals simultaneously but actually write in only one journal, collaging ahead a few pages, journaling one page at a time. I enjoy both approaches.
