“Bad Sushi”
20 August 2011
9″X7″ journal, vintage image, paint, tape, black gesso.
Have you ever had one of those nights… totally bizarre dreams? Odd visions, disjointed, meandering, strange flashes of the past, or is premonitions of my future? I had one of those nights a while back. So I decided to turn it into an art journal spread this weekend while playing in the sun. Perhaps it was all just remnants of a bad piece of sushi from dinner?
That actually looks like bad sushi. Of course, they say dreams are many things, so I hope this isn’t a premonition. I’m sure if it goes in your journal, it was meant to be. Sorry I’ve been gone. Entertaining a friend took me away from my computer last week. Thanks for your visit.
I hope it wasn’t bad sushi or a premonition! But I must say that your journal spread has captured the feel of bizarre dreams – very atmospheric!
This looks very dreamy, mysterious, beautiful…I like the idea of interpreting a dream in a journal.

Wonderful way to transform a bad dream, Brian. I was looking forward to seeing you this weekend ;(( next time. I love the vibrance and passion in your pages and know that I will always leave your site inspired. Thanks for that.
I just love your work! I have been meaning to keep a sketchbook to remember to draw element from my dreams that I could later use in my art. I haven’t done so yet–but this is a good reminder I need to.
