I have to make art. Good, bad, who cares. In fact who cares if it is “art”? I have to do it. I have to get it out there. I have a need to express myself. It is up to you to interpret. Look closely.
We are artists, we are passionate. Go with your passion.
Today your passion made me giggle like a little girl – Thank You!
Sincerely,
Laurie AKA Idgie
Love this and love the post! We have to make “art”! The drive can get overwhelming when we try to squelch our creativity!
I’m suffering intolerably right now… not able to create what I want to create! Being forced to feed the task master little tidbits instead of a feast! AAARRRRGGGHHHH! That’s her complaining at me right now… ; )

“Who cares” is right! Oh my…I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s breathtaking and groundbreaking! Emotional, real, fresh, ballsy, passionate, conflicted, vigorous…I can feel all of it bursting out of it and more. Your words enhance your visual messages, I didn’t even need the words IN the image. I am so moved. It’s not trying hard to please, it’s GRAND because of it! Just GRAND!! A breakthrough in the emancipation of Brian, that’s what I see!! And it doesn’t even matter what I see or what anybody sees, it needs not be interpreted. It just is, GRAND!! Gripping, inspiring, and proud making!

Yum! I do love it …. all that hidden angst. wonderful!
This is really wonderful, Brian. There is SO MUCH ENERGY in this spread. Good, bad, indifferent, I love it!
Funny thing about art. I looked the word up in some old dictionary, and it said something like art is drawing with crayons and such. Should see if I can find it again! I’m so glad you said what you did, because I was working on a piece of art and I’m not real happy with it. Then I worked on three pages in my visual journal in one day, and I loved them. But when I saw what I did on some pages, I wasn’t happy with them. Felt like tearing them out, but didn’t. Glad I read your post!
Well said. Very well said. I might have to quote you on this.
Have a great weekend!
I’m glad you are passionate about making art. Keep creating!!!!!
i am constantly looking for a way to “explain” what it is that i feel so compelled to do–sometimes there is no rational way to describe your ART. Thank you for letting me know that it comes from within and you gotta get it out!
Your pages are sooo delicious! I’m going through some kind of transition in art journaling or crisis of confidence I guess. I’m not sure where to go next so I haven’t been journaling much (more focused on drawing.) I hope that my “mojo” reappears soon…in the meantime, I can enjoy watching your art mojo strut its stuff!
These are gorgeous and I so agree that I don’t care what others call what I do. I call it manna and I cannot live without doing it. (((hug)))
