It is a beautiful day here in Long Beach, it’s 84 degrees. I’m just in my backyard exploring my little monsters. The monsters that scared me in my childhood and the ones that still make me jump in the night. You may notice some reoccurring images in this post from past spreads. Do you have reoccurring dreams? I wanted to get this posted. I am back outside to play with paper, ink, glue and paints.
Oh I love this…so very very cool..the black lines on this rich background..mmmmmmyum, and that image..the monster… just pops right at you, I wouldn’t call it Lil’ though..Also like the white writing ‘Creature Black Lagoon’, how appropriate and cheeky…haha
Brian, thanks for your lovely comments on my art journal pages =-) You are absolutely right that I can bind my book any way I see fit!
I love this spread you’ve made and I agree with Orly that the “black lagoon” words add just the right touch =-) I also like how the monsters hand is looming large in the image…it makes me think of how my own monsters can loom large IN MY HEAD! But they are not always as big as I make them out to be =-)
Love the colors Brian. The monster fits right in. Is this the first spread in your new journal?
oh, wow, I love this. we do all have monsters in the night.
I just discovered your blog and I am in love.
