Spread 107 – Transformative
September 8 2012
Vintage and personal papers, Acrylic paint, ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink, matte medium, matte varnish, pencil and colored pencils.
It was a particularly bad day at my particular work. Completely computer related and out of our control. I just came home and jumped in my pool, the cool water helped me to let it all go far away. I lay there floating for a long time. On my back. And there it was that particularly boring, ugly telephone pole I can not stand. It has always soiled my view and peacefulness of my private paradise. I was looking at it there, just the pole and me and the sky floating. And it was transformed. Beautiful.

I love the story of the ugly telephone pole turn beautiful.
I love this story Brian and the way you have tranfomed the telephone pole in your journal spread is just great. You do have some amazing powers of transformation!
Now that is what I call turning lemons into lemonade!
While I love everything you do, I am especially drawn to this page.
funny how that happens right? i always thought telephone poles were the industrialized version of a totem pole…
You turned some ‘negatives’ into a beautiful ‘positive’ here – wonderful! =D
