Hello and welcome to A Paperbear, my art blog. If this is your first time welcome! Look please take the time and look around at past posts!

This is my repost for Seth Apter’s “Buried Treasure”, where artists repost a favorite blog post. I am currently at the end of a summer cold and I can relate to wanting to be home. Enjoy!

Spread 0065 – “Home”

February 29, 2012

Vintage and personal papers, crackle paste, tape, Adirondack Color Wash Sprays.

I’ve been under the weather with a cold the last couple of days. I was at work and the only place I wanted to be was home. Home under the down covers of my warm bed, snuggled with my kitties. Now you must understand my kitties don’t just like to be on the bed with me, they have their own spots on the bed. Hank, our female cat loves to sleep between my feet. Melrose our newest Maine Coon cat loves to sleep at my left side on top of me, and Tyler our 20 plus pound Maine Coon cat loves to sleep curled around my head like a furry hat.

Home to me is making dinner for my partner Ed after a long day and just sharing our day together. Home to me is spending a Saturday afternoon with good friends new and old art journaling, laughing and sharing. Home to me is spending a wonderful afternoon art journaling in my backyard in the sun all by myself. Home to me is sitting down to a nice cup of fresh mint tea grown in my garden. It could be an afternoon in the yard, trimming, planting, arguing over what we are going to replace and or plant in our yard with Ed. It could also be a big pool party with all our friends or an intimate dinner with friends on our patio. It could be me and my journal, just playing. It all means home to me.
